Home decor items make the perfect personal gift
I love expressing style with my interior design choices–as well as my holiday gift choices. That’s why this holiday season, I plan to tap into the personal styles of my friends and family members and give them items for their homes that they’ll absolutely love. To make the presents even more personal, I keep an arsenal of a few different rolls of gift-wrapping papers, beautiful ribbons, and decorative ornaments, and I always try to put together packaging that will make the receiver smile.
While not everyone has the same tastes in the world of interior design–traditional, contemporary, modern, rustic, you get the idea–here are a few gift ideas that I think can fit into many aesthetics and lifestyles.
Faux Fur Throws
This is one of the “it” items this holiday season. Soft and sumptuous, these throws strike the perfect balance between glamorous and rustic. My favorites are the brown and white styles from Restoration Hardware.
Champagne Flutes
While most people have a particular collection of glassware and China that they love, I think it’s okay to go outside the box when it comes to champagne flutes. It encourages the idea of some extra toasting after all! These Kate Spade flutes are fun and not too formal–perfect for an imprumptu celebration.
Wooden Snack Bowls
Every seating area can benefit from the addition of a few earthy snack bowls, like these handcrafted olivewood bowls from Crate & Barrel.
Light-Hearted Art
Artwork is one of the toughest presents to nail down–it’s so personal and subjective. But receiving a great piece of art is one of the greatest presents imaginable. One of my favorite, sure-fire winners in the art world is a vintage print or iconic magazine cover, like these Conde Nast prints of The New Yorker.
